Is there a possible way to have a certain homepage for certain days and times, and then it switches to a different page on a different set date and time? And could this repeat weekly? I am designing a site for a church that streams services on Sundays at 10:30am and Wednesdays at 7pm and I need a way to switch the homepage to a page with a link to the stream.

    Hi, Jarrod.

What you could do is create Timed Content Rules for each weekly service (one repeating weekly on Sundays at 10:30AM to however long the service is, and another one for the Tuesday service), then use a shortcode for each rule that wraps around the streaming link or code. You could then put the shortcode blocks on your home page – no extra pages required.

That would work… But will still like a separate landing page for video… Is it possible to have 2 “sliders” instead of pages? For instance my current homepage is a full width slider. Perhaps instead of switching the page, I could make a similar slider with the Go Live button and wrap that in the shortcode rule?

I created four rules. 2 for Sunday’s, 2 for Wednesday’s… One is set to make the first slider hide, the second is supposed to make the second slider show… Unfortunately it is just making a big blank white space underneath the first slider… Any help?

    Hi, Jarrod.

Can you post the shortcode, along with any enclosed content?

OK, make sure your Sunday rules and your Wednesday rules have the exact same schedule, except one Sunday rule says show and the other says hide – do the same with the Wednesday rules. Then, use the show rules for the services and the hide rules for the other times.

Could you elaborate a little more? Just so there’s no confusion. And thanks so much!

OK, going by your example, I’m assuming rules 44 and 45 are for the Sunday and Wednesday services, and 48/49 are for the rest of the time; also, I’m assuming 44/48 are your Sunday rules and 45/49 are the Wednesday rules. Altogether, it would look like this:

    • 44 – Sunday schedule show (apply shortcode for service content slider)
    • 48 – Sunday schedule hide (apply shortcode for rest-of-time content slider)
    • 45 – Wednesday schedule show (apply shortcode for service content slider)
    • 49 – Wednesday schedule hide (apply shortcode for rest-of-time content slider)

Ok, I’ve got that done now. Thanks. But now below the first slider, it has the top of a second slider and when I scroll down it turns white….
I made sure to make Sunday’s Show time the same as Sunday’s Hide time, and vice versa for Wednesday…

    Sunday Show
Show the content on February 15, 2015 @ 10:25 AM until February 15, 2015 @ 12:30 PM. Repeat this action every week on Sundays. This rule will be active until February 21st, 2116. All times are in the America/New_York timezone.

    Sunday Hide
Hide the content on February 15, 2015 @ 10:25 AM until February 15, 2015 @ 12:30 PM. Repeat this action every week on Sundays. This rule will be active until February 21st, 2116. All times are in the America/New_York timezone.

    Wednesday SHOW
Show the content on February 15, 2015 @ 06:55 PM until February 15, 2015 @ 08:40 PM. Repeat this action every week on Wednesdays. This rule will be active until February 21st, 2116. All times are in the America/New_York timezone.

    Wednesday HIDE
Hide the content on February 15, 2015 @ 06:55 PM until February 15, 2015 @ 08:40 PM. Repeat this action every week on Wednesdays. This rule will be active until February 21st, 2116. All times are in the America/New_York timezone.

Do you have a link I can look at? Might be an issue w/ your slider plugin.

The banner appeared (at least for mobile where I can check it right now) at the right time, but the other banner did not disappear.

Yeah, now that I see the site, that makes sense, as right now (Sun. 3:00 PM MST) both Sun. and Wed. hide rules are active so the rest-of-week slider should be appearing twice (which is not what we want). You might try this – theoretically, we should be able to nest rules together:

    [Sunday show]Sunday slider[/Sunday show]
    [Sunday hide]
        [Wednesday show]Wednesday slider[/Wednesday show]
        [Wednesday hide]Rest-of-week slider[/Wednesday hide]
    [/Sunday hide]
    Thread Starter Jarrod

    (@jcochran904)

That still threw an extra slider in there… However, I created a “Hide All” rule.
Hide the content on February 15, 2015 @ 12:00 AM until February 16, 2015 @ 12:00 AM. Repeat this action every day. This rule will be active until February 23rd, 2016. All times are in the America/New_York timezone.

I then followed your idea above as follows
    `[Sunday show]Sunday slider[/Sunday show]
    [Hide All show]
    [Sunday hide]Rest-of-week slider[/Sunday hide]
    [Wednesday show]Wednesday slider[/Wednesday show]
    [Wednesday hide]Rest-of-week slider[/Wednesday hide]
    [/Hide All hide]

This seems to do the trick! It stopped the extra sliders so I messed with the two Sunday rules to check and sure enough it looks like it works! I would like to leave this ticket open however until I can verify that it works as scheduled without me messing with the dates. Thanks!
