Can't log in – stays on login screen

I’m not sure what changed, but when I try to log into the site today, the login screen stays after login. I get the automated email that login was a success, but the login screen does not redirect to the admin area.

I tried resetting passwords both via WP and MySQL directly and, since I’m getting the “login success” email, I don’t think this is the issue.

I tried creating the ‘.htaccess’ file in the www folder, but that didn’t do it either.

The login URL looks like it should be redirecting back to the same site so nothing appears wrong there….but something is clearly wrong…
