  • Hello,
I am not new to the forums but I am new with posting something on this forum ?? because I am having the same issue with Meta Slider and I cannot find the answer anywhere. Like Jimmy here I cannot save any configuration of the Meta Slider Plugin. I have updated my WP to 4.1.1 and I got Meta Slider latest version and not matter how many times I press ‘Save’ or ‘Save and Preview’ Meta slider will not save any changes. It keeps staying on default settings. If anyone knows a fix, please let us know!

    Hi Both,

It sounds like you’re using the development version of Meta Slider, I’ve been updating the way Meta Slider saves and it seems like saving the slideshow settings is broken at the moment (I will fix that!)

But the question is how you’ve managed to get the development version installed, you should be on the official release (3.3) which is still working.

Are you clicking on a link that says something like “This theme needs Meta Slider, click here to install”, or are you going to Plugins > Add New, and searching for Meta Slider?

    Regards,
    Tom

Oh wow seems I posted too quick,
    thank you for your reply.
I am going to see how I have it installed.
the Vantage theme suggested I should get meta slider.
I went to plug-ins > add new > searched for meta slider and installed the first result I got.

    Edit:
    Alright.
I de-installed the plug-in and again went to:
Plug-ins > add new > searched for Meta Slider. Now you can install the result directly or first open the Meta slider page then install it from there. First time I got the ‘broken’ save was when I installed directly.
Now I re-installed the plug-in by first clicking on Meta Slider so I got to see the overview page of the plug in, then went to the install tab and installed it. And now I can save my settings!
Could it be that direct install is not working?

Thank you for the amazing quick reply!

Yes! I got it working. So a re-install of the plug-in worked for me.
I just did it a little diffrent (se above post)

    Hi Hoodini,

Yes, it seems like the direct install points to the development version.. which is risky. It’s happened before but I thought the Vantage guys fixed it. I’ll double check and ask them to put in a fix ??

    Regards,
    Tom

Thank you, it looks like it worked that time. I originally used the direct install. This time I searched for the plugin.

    Thank you.

I dont want to post a new thread as my problem is the same. Trying to change the slideshow to have a “filmstrip” and in advanced settings image crop to be “disabled” but saving the slideshow resets it back to as if I didnt change any settings.

Will doing a reinstall wipe all of my current 30+ slideshows?
