    Hello good people,

my problem is, when I login into the admin panel, every page is blank, except the right nav menu.

Any ideas what can be the problem, or how can I fix it?

    Regards,
    tupacan

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thank you for the reply.

Could this mess up the current theme design and settings?

No, your theme will remain unchanged, you’re just forcing a different one to activate instead.

This didn’t fixed my problem. I tried both methods, but none helped. My whole admin panel is still blank, except the right navigation menu.

When I manually reset the plugins, nothing happened. When I renamed the current theme, the website didn’t load, but I was able to access the admin panel via /wp-admin, logged in, but the problem wasn’t fixed.

    Any ideas?

Ok, so it is a theme-specific problem at least, because you could access the Dashboard when you reset the theme.

Download a new copy of Twenty Fifteen via https://www.ads-software.com/themes/twentyfifteen/ and upload that via FTP to /wp-content/themes/ then reset the theme again.

Your site should switch to Twenty Fifteen, and you should be able to access the Dashboard again.

Now, for the problem theme, what is it called and where did you get it from?

The current active theme is called “Relia” and it’s officially purchased. I don’t think the theme is the problem, it worked perfectly.

I have a question. Why would I need a new copy of Twenty Fifteen, I already have Twenty Fifteen?

    Appreciate your help.

The theme is most definitely the problem if forcing WordPress to switch to the default allowed you to access the Dashboard.

With Twenty Fifteen installed, the theme manually switched to default, and all plugins deactivated, are you still unable to access the front of the site?

    I think i misunderstood you..

I though that when I rename the current theme, it automatically switches to Twenty Fifteen. Am I wrong? And how to manually switch the theme without dashboard access?

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

If you rename the current theme’s directory at /wp-content/themes/ then Twenty Fifteen should activate.

By that I mean, if your current theme is called Current Theme, you would change:

    /wp-content/themes/currenttheme/

    to:

    /wp-content/themes/currenttheme-renamed/

This will force Twenty Fifteen to activate.

Once you do that, can you access the Dashboard? If you can access the Dashboard, does the front of your site also operate properly (only this time with Twenty Fifteen active)?

    Hello James,

I did that before and, I did it now again. The result is the same.

When I rename the theme directory, there is no front-end of the website, everything is blank (I tried to see the source code that way, but it’s blank, too). I can access the dashboard, but it is the same as before I renamed the theme directory (everything blank except the right nav menu).

    Any thoughts?

Btw, I’ve noticed that when I rename the theme directory, the right nav menu into the dashboard is changed, too. But, as I said before, everything else is still blank.

Oh, ok, I think I misunderstood.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

Will try this now. I just wonder, do I need to backup any database?

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Sure, it can never hurt to backup. ??
