Can’t create categories

  • After installing 2.2.1 I try to make new categories, and I get this error, along with a 404.How do i solve it?
    I put all files in wp-admin to 755, and .htaccess to 777. :

    Forbidden
    You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Ok, I read other threads here onthat subject, but the fixes there does not work. Also I now have a ful list of similar errors as soon as I log in.
    Is it possible to fix this? If not, am I to use an older version of WP or choose another blog script entirely? WP seems good, but if it is ful of bugs – it seems that WP is aware iof tis bug when I read the entries – and does not post a solutionthen it does not seem to be a good solution.

    oh, and do not set .htaccess to 777. change it back to 644
