• I am currently unable to save changes to any forms. This began after I migrated the site in question to the client’s server, but it also could have been related to a recent update—I haven’t checked the interface since creating the form a few months ago.

When I try to save a form, I get the following message:

Custom Contact Forms is experiencing issues.
There is an issue with synchronizing data. Please try deactivating all other plugins and activating the TwentyFifteen theme. If this fixes the problem, you have a plugin or theme conflict. If it does not, please post in the support forums or Github.

I have not deactivated all my plugins and switched to TwentyFifteen (to do so would not be viable at this point), but I highly doubt that a theme or plugin conflict is the cause, since I have been running an identical theme/plugin setup for months on my own server with no issues. To rule out an issue with the form itself, I deleted it and attempted to build a new one from scratch, only to find that I could only save that form once before the error came back. I also deleted and reinstalled the plugin, to no avail.

Meanwhile, on my test server, everything is working exactly as it should—except for one time when the Manage Form screen threw a malformed popup that read “Custom Contact Forms is experiencing issues” and could not be closed, everything else can be edited and saved as normal.

What’s the deal here? Is there some buried data from the migration that’s throwing a wrench in the works? Or is this related to the plugin itself? Most importantly, how can I fix it, because it is quite literally the only thing left to finish before we take the site live?

  • I had the same message pop up – it was caused by my site not having permalinks set to postname format.

My permalinks are set to postname format.

First thing to do is check whether it’s a conflict with another plugin or the theme.

Like I said, it is not a conflict with another plugin or the theme. I actually did get a chance to switch to twentyfifteen and turn off all other plugins. The problem lies elsewhere.

I have been getting same pop up and likewise not changed anything except updated plugins as required. And likewise disabling plugins and changing theme is too much of an inconvenience! Must be a better solution?

Just updated the plugin and am still getting the same error.

Please try deactivating other plugins ??

^ This is not valid logic.

I’m not making this up, Taylor, I did actually try it. It doesn’t work.

I am having the same problem.

    1) Deactivated all other plugins,
    2) On editing the form I get the error message
    3) have updated plugin

The form does generate email, but cannot be edited.

I like the concept. Let’s see if we can get it working?

Alienne, thank you. but my permalinks are already set to Post name.

Custom contact plugin has updated twice but problem still persists!

Hey everyone, please email tlovett88 [at] gmail

    Thanks!

Am I missing the point – probably its my age! But why?

I just did a Install on a fresh WP Install with no other plugins and the default theme and it seems, the first time we save the form, it does save but when you do edits and try to save, it is’nt working. So when it saves the first time, its for sure not a creation issue but later when its updated, it is failing to update. Please check and fix this issue !

Also, ever since I Installed your plugin, this mod-security rule on my Server is getting triggered (I was myself blocked twice from my own dedicated server).

    # allow request methods
    SecRule REQUEST_METHOD “!^((?:(?:POS|GE)T|OPTIONS|HEAD))$” \
“phase:2,t:none,log,auditlog,status:501,msg:’Method is not allowed by policy’, severity:’2′,id:’1234123435′,tag:’POLICY/METHOD_NOT_ALLOWED'”

Your FAQ says about something similar but could this be the reason for this whole issue ?

CCF uses RESTful HTTP verbs such as PUT and DELETE. If your web server does not support those HTTP requests, the plugin will not work. You will need to contact your host to resolve this.

chatboxx, yes that’s the problem. Your web server needs to support PUT and DELETE. Please contact your host.
