How to do user to user messaging

    Hi,

    I am building a membership website with custom content types, custom roles, etc.

    A user will be able to create a post of the custom content type.

    If another user sees that post, and is interested in it, I would like that user to be able to contact the author of the post thru email or messaging.

    I see that BuddyPress has messaging but I am not sure if it is the best solution.

    Any suggestions as to how to do messaging or emailing would be greatly appreciated.

    Buddypress is likely going to be a much easier solution. No need to re-invent the wheel!

    However, email is still a widely-used medium, and might be better for your users so they won’t have to be tied to the site in order to correspond.
