    I have had events manager for over a year now and have had no problems with it. A couple of weeks ago i started using wp fullcalendar again.

    I had it before, again with no issues either. I am not entirely sure it started at the same time but recently the add/edit event pages have been really slow to load. It appears everything on screen had loaded but the wheel in the browser keeps turning indicating it is trying to load something. Until it stops turning, uploading images and saving or updating in painfully slow and seems to impact the whole site.

    Infact it brought my site down a few times beacuase of memory issues until i disabled the wordpress heartbeat with the heartbeat control plugin.

    I deactivated all plugins and switched themes and don’t seem to have a problem in twentyfifteen, however as i said i not experienced problems in over a tear and everything appeared fine after i upgraded in January. I have tried downgrading both plugin and them with no luck. I really need to carry on using events manager, do you have any ideas?
    I am desperate!!

    I may have an update on this. There doesn’t seem to be a problem adding or editing events on Safari. Previously i was using Firefox and Google Chrome seems to be a problem too…

    Can you share a link to your site?

    What version of Events Manager, WP FullCalendar and WordPress are you using?

    I have since disabled WP-Fullcalendar. It seems to take a while to load the add/edit events page the first time and then load normally after that.
    Here is a link to the site. I have it in maintenance mode at the moment but only temporarily…it may be up when you check.

    Sorry the versions are WordPress 4.1.1 Events Manager 5.5.5 and WP Fullcalendar 0.8.4

    I have notice that at the time of loading i get this in my slow query log… here is the query log
    # Query_time: 64.555954 Lock_time: 0.000080 Rows_sent: 2 Rows_examined: 141994
    SET timestamp=1425320498;
    select meta_key from wp_38512d6yn0_postmeta where meta_key like ‘_wp_page_template’ and meta_value like ‘template-contact.php’;

    Any thoughts on this?

    How many events, categories, locations, etc. do you have?

    Thread Starter tanyawright

    (@tanyawright)

    At the moment i have around 998 events but 350 are past events which i am deleting, 257 locations and 47 categories.

    That’s not a lot – but it depends how much memory you have allocated to your site.

    I have 2gb of ram and a memory limit of 512mb

    Is that your php or wordpress memory limit?

    Thread Starter tanyawright

    (@tanyawright)

    Both, doesnt wp use the php limit anyway?

    Not always. Are you explicitly setting the memory in your wp-config file?

    Thread Starter tanyawright

    (@tanyawright)

    The setting is 512mb in wp-config.php i reduced php memory limit to 256mb yestertay for other reason. Will this affect why the page appears to keep loading even though everything is loaded on to the page?

    When i use the default theme the edd/edit event page loads quickly but loading the events in the admin event list is still really slow as is adding an event to the trash.

    would it be possible to empty the trash and see if it makes any difference?
