• My site professionalsocialpromotion.com appears to be hacked, and it’s been cleaned twice now, it looks like they’re getting in through the footer code of the whitehouse theme, which is an old theme that hasn’t been updated in years, which can apparently cause problems.

It looks like I’ll have to either edit this theme, or replace it, I have a back up from last year on updraft plus, I’d really like to keep the theme if I can, as long as I can stop hackers being able to add nasty links to all the pages of my site through it.

Can anyone suggest a replacement theme either free or paid that looks like whitehouse, or can anyone tell me how to edit the code so hackers can’t get into my site, or who I can hire to do this for me?

I’m getting my host Host Gator to do a manual cleaning, but that won’t help if I can’t fix the problem where they’re getting in.

They’re just adding some random links to some payday loan sites. Why would they even do that? It just means that the entire site gets ruined and doesn’t show up on search results anyway, and it’s not at all relevant, or helpful to them at all. Why aren’t these sites shut down from doing that? Can I report them?

Somebody help please. This Google Webmaster forum thread might be of some help.
