Meta keywords not showing up

I checked the box for Meta keyword inclusion but it’s not working. When I look at the page, there’s no “Meta Keywords = ” in the code. I’ve shut off the caching plugin thinking that was it. Is there something else to turn on/change in the SEO plugin to make keywords show up? This is killing my search results.
