I moved my multi site from a folder install to the root domain. I used the Incerconnectit Search/Replace DB script to replace the folder name in the databases. The primary site still goes to the original install folder, although when I look at the site using the network admin panel the folder isn’t showing there. IF I hit visit from that panel it goes to the subfolder. The second site I had is working fine, and the subfolder isn’t there.

    I can log into: https://www.mydomain.com/site2/wp-admin
    https://www.mydomain.com/original-folder-install/wp-admin
    But not https://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin

All the pages of the primary site work both with and without the original folder name.

I don’t know where to look to fix this problem. I have very little php and mysql skills. Any help would be appreciated.

Opened Options Database and changed the siteurl and home entries to remove the sub folder. Didn’t expect that the Search/Replace script would miss this. Now everything is working without the subfolder.

Except the index.php has stopped working. If anyone knows why, I would appreciate help.

When I moved the old index.htm from the site, the home page didn’t work. Tried to type index.php directly and it still failed. Turned out I needed to reorder some items on my .htaccess. The site had previously been all html. I also removed any .htaccess commands that seemed extraneous.

    Now the entire site works.

This was the link that helped me figure out how to edit the options database:

I fixed the .htaccess file by comparing it with another where I had converted from an .htm site.
