• I am trying to log in to my admin account and, although I know my password, once I type it in it tells me I’ve been locked out due to multiple attempts.
When I try to reset the password, it keeps telling me that it’s not strong enough although I use a crazy combination each time – won’t take it.
I somehow manage to find a “good enough” one (which it doesn’t make any sense because it’s actually simpler than my previous ones, I reset the password, clean the browser and try again – same thing – locked out.
Never happened in over three years, now it happens every single day for the past week.
Was my site hacked? And if, what do I do?
    Thanks.

  • Using FTP, rename your plugins file located in the wp-contact directory to plugins-old. You should be able to login.

I am trying not to panic out…
When I’ve decided to use WordPress for my website it’s been stated that is easy to use and you don’t have to be html connoisseur or even a professional to be able to run your own blog…

I mean, I’ve learned a little, been able to set up my website, but, how do I do that if I’m locked out of my admin account?…
    What’s FTP?
Any little clue is appreciated, thanks.

Google search is your friend when you need to learn new things. You can also log into your hosting account and use their file manager to change the file name. To learn about using the file manager, check out your host’s knowledge base.

Not everyone wants to learn about maintaining a website and there is nothing wrong with that. But if you don’t want maintain your site, you may want to look at options such as WordPress.com or paying someone to help at jobs.WordPress.net.

    Thanks.. I guess… I appreciate your input.
I am running a small business and have zero time for learning now, especially when I don’t speak “computer science”. Not that I don’t “want”, just too busy.
I will try your suggestion or simply pay someone to fix it for me.
    Disappointed.
