Help – Transferring blog

  • Hi there,

    I’m new to blogging and I’m stuck in the process of transferring my blog from squarespace to laughing squid. I have a registered domain name, have signed onto WordPress, and have chosen a WordPress theme. Would there be anyone out there willing to help me out with this process? It sure would be appreciated.

    PS FYI, I’m planning on monetizing my blog at some point in future.

  • do you have a copy of your database from the old blog? you need to import this into the new database and then make a few adjustment inside wp-admin and it should look exactly the same if all the plugins and themes you used before have also been uploaded onto the new host.

    Let’s stop the confusion before it escalates…!

    Tashina, you do not need to “sign in” into anything Wp – if you have your own domain. If you mean you logged in into your WP installation, that’s fine.
    What exactly the “transferring” means in your terms? Did you check with Squarespace if you can export your data from there?

    iscifi, Squarespace is an online publishing tool, not a host where you have a WP blog. So, don’t give advice if you don’t know what are you talking about.
