PHPHelp: Latest Picasa Pictures

I have recently switched from Flickr to Picasa to manage my photos and I was wondering if there was a way to list my latest 8 photos over any album. As far as I can tell there are plugins that can list a random selection of albums, or a random selection of photos from an album, but nothing to manage a list of the latest photos posted. After looking at alot of plugins, I tried to code something to read my picasa rss feed, but it was to no avail. I am pretty novice with writing php. ??

If anyone knows of a way to do this it would be great. I would even settle for just listing my last 8 albums (just using the album thumb). None of this random crap.
