I tried upgrading wordpress from 4.1 to 4.1.1 this morning and it crapped out midstream.

    https://www.worldwideslave.com/

Now I get this message, “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.” on every screen, admin or otherwise.

I had 4.1.1 downloaded to my desktop and I have FTP access. What is the best course of action to fix this mess? Please help.

try MANUAL re-uploading. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old copies of files & folder on your server before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first.
If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong.

Seems to be working on my end.

I would clear your browser cache and try re-loading the page.

I’m not getting the “Scheduled maintenance” message you mentioned.

Thanks! I’ll try the manual process next time.
