Twittr button and counter dysfunctional for weeks

  • Hey guys,

    We have been experiencing issues with the Twitter button/counter for weeks now. You were unavailable, ec. so I thought we’d simply wait until you get back. When I saw the update this morning I’d really hoped it would fix the issue, but nope.

    The problem is that the Twitter counter is stuk on zero shares for most pages, products, posts etc. while we know for a fact they have been tweeted a lot of times. That is when the Twitter button is displaying at all…

    Could you let me know how HTTPS is enabled on your site? Do you use a specific plugin to handle the redirection?

    Could you also try to disable HTTPS for a few minutes, and let me know if it helps?

    Hi Jeremy,

    SSL certifiate purchased with the hosting company with a permanent 301 redirect setup from the server – not using any plugin.
    I did suspect HTTPS at first too, I deactivated the 301 redirect back then when the issue started but it made no difference – and ditto today. I tried in Chrome, Firefox and Chrome.
    Sometimes the Twitter button and counter don’t even load and I get the usual Chrome icon displaying a ?? emoticon instead of it.

    What do you think?

    Could you try adding an extra button to one of your posts using Twitter’s button generator, and let me know if you experience the same issue with the default button?
