@kkamil88 – This “directory separator” issue has almost always been due to either a web hosting issue or an incorrectly defined WP_CONTENT_URL definition in the wp-config.php file.

Have you looked at those two ideas?

no, but I noticed when it happens.
After moving page from domain.com/directory to domain.com (no metter I do this manually or using Duplicator) – I tested this on different hostings.

I even made a new installation on domain.com/directory, everything was new fresh install, and NO nextgen gallery (I left this to install after moving to domain.com) – still the same problem..
It looks like gallery doesn’t work ok if wordpress was moved even before plugin installation.

“or an incorrectly defined WP_CONTENT_URL definition in the wp-config.php “

I don’t have WP_CONTENT_URL in wp-config.php, nowhere… even on new fresh installation.. and on old websites too. (???)

if gallery works ok on specific hosting and doesn’t work after moving to different directory is it still hosting issue?

@kkamil88 – It could be … there is one particular host (home.pl) that appears to have a default directory separator setting that does not work well with NextGEN Gallery. It would be across all domains set up under that account. We have tried to write some compatibility code to correct for this issue but it is still not 100% corrective.

I have home.pl, problem is on other hosting too..
would be great to run this at least on home.pl. Its weird becouse right now I installed (again) on domain.com and problem is back again. On other installation in domain.com/directory is ok.
    ??

So what can I do on home.pl? use other plugin? Problem is with PRO version too?

And there is no way to delete your plugin (a lot of stuff is still in database.. :/ ), I tried use db-cleaning tools, but still there is ngg_ inside db.

@kkamil88 – If you have been “cleaning” the database you may have caused additional issues with NextGEN Gallery as some database “cleaners”/”optimizers” will break NextGEN Gallery (sometimes beyond any troubleshooting steps that can fix them).

To the best of my recollection, the directory separator option on home.pl is the second choice but I do not have a link to the one time I have seen an image of that option (and it was in Polish, so I cannot say what it reads either).

PS: We have seen this predominantly on home.pl servers but any server setup in the same fashion can expect the same results ??

thank you for your replies. I’ll try with directory separator, or maybe better idea is to change hosting ?? With home.pl is more problems than that… I don’t know why it’s the most popular hosting in Poland (and most expensive!!)

Nextgen gallery – the best wp gallery plugin ?? (since 3 days I’m trying to find another gallery plugin, no success…)

@kkamil88 – sounds like a plan. Let us know if you run into any further concerns.
