    Hello,
Thanks in advance for such a wicked good plugin.

I have installed the latest version of the plugin. Before I would post here, I read the previous advice and wrote to my ISP about the QR not generating or showing up on the tickets. The following is the answer. Everything is good at the ISP. Could the fact that we have not gone live with the domain be a contributing problem? The site is running under an IP address right now. Everything else works with this plugin.

I deactivated all unnecessary plugins and that didn’t work either.

I was wondering if you could maybe give me a hint on what else I can do or if you think this will clear up when using a domain name instead of an IP address?

    Thank so much

    John

    Hello John,

I’ve checked and confirm that the directory in question is set with the correct permissions and ownership. The connection to localhost is also allowed by default.

If you have any problems with your system, please provide us with detailed, step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the exact issue. Do not forget to include any login details we might need as well.

We are looking forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,

@backbeatjohn The IP address should have no bearing on the QR code.

I see you have another thread with this same post. Could you perhaps provide a WP login so we can take a look? if you do feel ok with that, email it to [email protected]

    Thank you

I saw a message on the other post I did to paste the status into the dashboard. I’m not sure what the dashboard is. I hope you received the login credentials I sent via email. Again thank you so much.

Hey @backbeatjohn – In past experience this has been a permission issue about 80% of the time. I know you have checked with your ISP and they say that the network communications are fine; however, the permissions may still be off. Here is a description of exact what they should check, since they ask for it. If this yields no good results, then we may need to get credentials to your demo site so that we can do some extended checks of other possible issue.

Make sure that the file permissions in /wp-content/plugins/opentickets-community-edition/libs/phpqrcode/cache/ are at least as open as your uploads directory /wp-content/uploads/, and that the files are owned by the user that apache (assuming you are using apache) is running as. On many servers, this means that the files must be owned by nobody.nobody or apache.apache (depending on implementation) and must have 755 permissions at least. An alternative could be to simply set the permissions of that dir to 777, but that could be considered a problem by the sys admin, so do that as a last resort if the above instructions do not solve it.

    Hope this helps,
    Loushou

Ok. Totally my bad @backbeatjohn. I misread the ISP reply, and did not realize that they claim the permissions are correct according to my above comment. At this point I think we are going to need a closer look to help further. As @quadshot recommended, if you provide us with a temporary login to a demo site that is having the problem, we should be able to deduce what is going wrong by digging around in settings and using some of the tools at our disposal. Shoot us an email at [email protected] if this is a route you are willing to take.

    Hey @backbeatjohn ,

I just checked the inbox again, and have not gotten an email from you or a reply here. Any feedback on this would be appreciated, even if it is declining further, in depth help.

    Thanks,

    Hi Loushou,

I sent the info, but I guess it went to quadshot.

    I’ll do it again.

    @backbeatjohn ,

Apparently it went to spam. We got it now. I will take a look.

    Hey @backbeatjohn ,

Thanks to your help getting access to your environment, I was able to track this down. I have adjusted the code to account for your situation and several other possible similar situations. The long an short is that the QR lib needs access to your site Salts, which it could not locate. Now it can, and your QRs show. This should also resolve reports of a similar problem from any previous users that had the issue.

Thanks again for your help, and by extension, your willingness to help,

    Hey Guys!

Think my issue is something similar to this.

GREAT plugin by the way. Absolutely loving it!

Anyway, I am busy testing out the plugin and one thing I have noticed is a problem with the QR codes. If I request 1 ticket I get a QR code and then use a scanner to check in (it works). Then I’ll request another ticket (1) and it will say that it has already been checked in. Then if I request more than 1 ticket, QR codes work. If I try to request the same quantity again then I get the check in error.

I’ve tried changing all the permission even to 777 and still the same issue.

    Know of this issue?

Secondly, is it possible to list an event in your woocommerce store rather than on a calendar?

Thanks in advance (hope the above made sense).

    Regards,

    Neelz
