Getting a 404 when trying to save tracking tab

I tried on another multisite installation. Same problem.

I think the plugin doesn’t work in WordPress Multisite Installations.

WP-Piwik supports network sites. Is it running as a network plugin? Or as a site-specific or a must-use plugin?

Can you compare the 404 URL with the previous one?

The plugin is Network Activated.

Below you’ll find the URLs that are giving me 404s in both websites:

The links look good, but can you also give the link of the tracking tab page before you click “save”? This should be the same link in each case.

Here are both urls before I hit the save button on the Tracking tab:

They look just the same. As soon as I click on save it goes to a 404 page, but the URL is exactly the same :-O

I should mention I’m doing this from the Super-Admin dashboard. Since the plugin is network activated, the WP-Piwik option wouldn’t show on individual site’s dashboard.

I think I’ll switch these sites to single installation, but we can try to resolve this first, in case it’s a bug and could help others in the future.

Hm, and the domain and the protocol (HTTP or HTTPS) also stay the same?

Can you enable WordPress’ debugging and check if you get any additional information at the 404 page?

I enabled the WP_DEBUG and got no error on the 404 page.

Disabled other plugins… no change…

The issue only appears at the tracking tab?

Yes, I was able to save the “Piwik Settings” and the “Statistics” tabs without any problems.

With the tracking tab as soon as I hit save it takes me to a 404 page. Doesn’t matter if I check the box to add the tracking code or not.

Please try 0.9.9.16 – I think I was able to fix this issue. (Although I have to admit that I have no idea why I didn’t work for the tracking tab.)

Just updated to 0.9.9.16, still the same problem… :/

Also, I just installed the new version (0.9.9.16) in a new single site, and the Settings tab is not saving the data (API and Token).

As soon as I hit save it goes back to the same empty Settings tab. It does say changes saved, but the API code and the token are gone.And it still shows “piwik settings”, “support” and “Credits” above.

Let me know if you want me to open a new thread about this.

I tried different configurations. WP-Piwik single site, WP-Piwik network site, and tried the different settings tabs… everything works as expected.

For the single site issue: Did you check this with enabled debugging? Maybe we get a hint there.

Beside the issue itself (I’m still thinking about it, but I currently have no solution…):

&token_auth= is not part of your auth token. You should only use the part behind the equal sign. ??
