    Hi,

This is my forst post to this forum, and I hope you can help me!
If you would please take a look at this test page, you’ll see a black/white image (of Robert De Niro) beneath a greenish ribbon of wallpaper. Here are three questions:

    1) How do I get rid of that band of wallpaper?
    2) How do I get rid of the opaque effect on the image on mouse-over?
    3) How can I display the post title (in large font) over the image?

Thanks very much for your help!

    Hey Rutger,

That page comes up with a 404, do you have a working URL?

    Good to see you too!

That page still comes up with a 404.

My recommendation is to make a child theme that changes these with custom CSS or you can use a plugin like Simple Custom CSS (my recommendation) to save your CSS (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/simple-custom-css).

If you’re not familiar with how to use CSS inspector in Chrome, it’s super easy to use and will make finding the CSS classes that you’ll need when you want to change the design. Here’s a great in-depth article about this: https://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/developertools/part1.

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for the tip regarding the CSS Inspector. I did use it to determine what is causing that band of wallpaper at the top but unsuccessfully so. Can you please take another look at the page? It should not return a 404 anymore (or hit contr + R?)

I was wondering also if you would care to look into my 3rd question: “How can I display the post title (in large font) over the image?”

    I appreciate your help!

I still can’t see the page.
