Transparent PNG fixes that work?

does anyone know of a fix that will actually work? I have tried several fixes that I found in searches and none of them seem to work at all. I can get it to work as a static image, but not when the image is called via css for the background. Does the png file have to be saved a specific way? I really wish IE would just get up to par with the other, better browsers.
