Great plugin but it has its faults.

  • Hi there, like i said brilliant plugin, congrats to you on it!

    The faults i can find that really need addressing are that when searching through cpts the featured image doesn’t show and it would be great to decide if to turn the excerpt on or off. also i have a few custom post types that have embedded videos or maybe an odd mp3 within them. although not many, but the problem with this is that if these certain custom posts come up they have the full url to the embeds and mp3s showing, enabling people to copy these links and maybe even throw and post them all over the net thus being leechable by anyone.

    Also i notice in any posts/page regular or custom that it shows any shortcode that as been added to that page or post, i do realize wordpress is partly to blame for this regarding all of the above but is there a solution to stop this from happening?

    Hi mcpeanut,

    I’m not sure I understand your use case. BP Profile Search is designed to search the BuddyPress Members directory, not posts or pages. Maybe you’re using a different plugin?

    doh! i wrote all of the above on the wrong page hahahaha, i was half asleep and had your plugin page open too in another window, damn lack of sleep, please disregard all of the above you are correct wrong plugin hahaha.

    No problem – at first I was a little worried about the strange things this plugin was reportedly doing, but then I guessed you were probably talking about another plugin ??
