Slowness when adding an event

Hello !!
At the beginning, the plugin (SportsPress) was working well but since we have added lot of players and teams (about 250 teams and 2000 players) the event module is very very slow. When we try to “add an event” the page loads during several minutes (sometimes we need 5/10 minutes to display the event adding page) and sometimes it crashes. It seems that each time we add more players the slowness is increased on event module.
Is there any limitation on the plugin (I mean a max number of player for example … )?
Did someone already added more than 1000 players and use the event module?
I hope I will be able to keep this plugin, it’s very nice ??
