Image Gallery embed problems with new Vimeo API

Trying to use the Huge-IT gallery plug-in on a new web site, with videos hosted on vimeo.com. The videos won’t embed in the new site unless they’re public on the vimeo site.

Vimeo support says: Apologies for the difficulties you’re experiencing. It looks like the WordPress plugin you’re using can only access public videos, so videos set to “Hide from Vimeo” would be inaccessible. The only ways to resolve this really are to either make the videos public – so they work using any plugin that’s accessing the Simple API – or to use a plugin that supports the new API (found here: https://developer.vimeo.com/api).

Can or will the Gallery plugin support the new Vimeo API?
