Installing WordPress on an existing website

    I’m about to install WordPress onto an account and update a client’s site, which is currently written in php. Therefore that means her current homepage is index.php and if I install WordPress it’s going to overwrite the home page before I’m ready to launch the site.

    I am reluctant to set the account up in a new folder on her account but perhaps I’m going to have to, till it’s ready and then import to the root folder. Unless there’s another way?
