    Tijmen,

Just sent you an email requesting the 2.0 Beta.

Wondered if you would take a moment to let us know what 2.0 will bring and later what the premium edition will bring?

If I understand correctly from keeping up with posts on this board, you are awaiting the following

    Before releasing 2.0:
WPML certification, finish writing documentation, and create a website

Before beginning to work on premium:
All of the above must be completed and then there will be a couple of months of work before premium is released. One thing premium will allow is filtering by category.

What else can we look forward to in 2.0 and then premium.

    Thanks. Love the plugin!!

  • I was coming to ask the exact same question. I am using your plugin on a project still in development and would love to know about the improved features.

The 2.0 version will support custom post types, WPML, filters that allow you to modify all the html output that is put together in js with underscore.

You can also add custom data fields to the store data, choose different address format, create a custom map style, use three extra shortcodes [wpsl_map], [wpsl_address] and [wpsl_hours] and some other stuff.

The main features in the premium version will be a CSV importer, category support and filters that you can use on the front-end. Extra shortcode options, a marker manager so that you can upload custom markers, statistics that allow you to see where people search for, a store search widget and an extra template.

I have some other ideas for more features, but I need to research them first whether it’s even possible.

    Hi Tijmen
I’ve been looking forward to the Premium version for a while. Could you launch it with just the features you have ready? For me the category support and front-end filters would be enough to get on with. That way you could release upgrades later, take the pressure off yourself and have some revenue for your efforts. I know you wouldn’t want to release it before it’s properly ready, but it would help all of us who think WPSL is a great plugin and want to stick with it.

This is a great plugin, but Tijmen is so busy with his freelance work, we simply have to wait. I swear I have been waiting for the release of 2.0 since at least November 2014. Back then, he was saying he had “a couple of weeks” of work to do before releasing it. I do respect that the paying gigs take up most of his time, but it would be nice if we could pay him for the premium version sooner!

@jackpudding The 2.0 version I have now does support filters to modify the store data. So can add custom fields in both the back and front-end, but the category filter isn’t there yet.

The 1.x beta for the premium version I had does have the category filters, but no filters to easily add custom data to the front and backend. And the 1.x code isn’t that compatible with the 2.x code, so I can’t just merge it.

Looking back I should definitely have released it in smaller parts, but I can’t change it anymore.

If you want to you can email me at info at tijmensmit.com, and I can give the 2.0 version as far as it is now. I’m not aware of any major issues, it’s mainly code polishing, completing the documentation and website, and fix an wpml issue before I can release it. Once the 2.0 is done, the first thing I will work on is adding the category filter on the front-end. So I can send you the update with the category filter as soon as it’s ready?
