  • This is a problem I’ve encountered numerous times with WP Super Cache (Apache, Nginx, standard WP install). WordPress says the home page and recent article is published, but the home page does not display the recently published page. Hitting the Publish button five or six times does the trick.

Also, switching to a site running ZenCache I noticed that it says the home page is updated when a new article is posted.

Not the same problem. I’m talking about SCHEDULED posts in the FUTURE. A lot of support questions about it, the last year, still not a fix about it.

And since you mention it, ZenCache (Quick-Cache) or Hyper Cache are working ok, totally refreshing the Home page.

I”m talking about both; scheduled and recently published. ZenCache has no trouble with either. WP Super Cache does. I like that WP Super Cache preloads pages which can really speed up a site, but if there’s a difference between the two (ZenCache) in how much server effort is required to deliver a static page I cannot see it.

Try the development version in about 20 minutes or grab https://svn.wp-plugins.org/wp-super-cache/trunk/wp-cache-phase2.php and place into your plugins/wp-super-cache/ directory overwriting the file already there.

Get the dev version from https://ocaoimh.ie/y/2o

Supercache caching was disabled during WP CRON requests because $_GET wasn’t empty but then the plugin wasn’t clearing out the supercache directory properly…

With the wp-cache-phase2.php update it seems to work just fine.

    many thanks
