• I have had success installing wordpress and getting to the site with localhost, but now that I want to use a domain setup at dyndns I’m having problems. I’ve got the domain setup in my wireless router and it is confirmed by the test as working. My question now is when i’m installing wordpress am I supposed to set the databaseuser@domain to the domain from dyndns? I’ve tried this, and it hasn’t worked in the past. Someone please help me shed some light.

    Thanks
    Craig

  • This is a network configuration problem. You have port forwarding working i’m assuming? If not that’s going to have to be setup since it’s probably only going as far as finding your router.

Then from your router you tell it to forward all port 80 request to the actual computer that wordpress is on. If this isn’t available on port forwarding i’m sure it’s on the firewall settings.

OK, I’ve got everything all set with the port forwarding with the firewall and my router and what not, but now when i got to the domain/wp-admin page it says “forbidden: you don’t have permission to access /wp-admin on this server”

    Any solutions?

    What OS are you using?

It sounds like a Windows issue. If that’s the case set the permissions for the web root to read and execute. Also don’t forget to give the “upload” directory Write access.

Would you mind giving us the web address?
