Child Theme doesn't work properly (Not even with plugin)

  • Hello!

    I’m trying to create a child theme for my website (basdejonge.nl)
    I’m using Twenty Fourteen, customized with the Twenty Fourteen Extended plugin. Now when I create a theme (manually or with a plugin) it resets my lay-out completely back to the original Twenty Fourteen theme…

    I followed several tutorials and I’m pretty sure I’m doing it right. Is it impossible to make a child theme because of my plugins? Or shouldn’t that matter?

  • When you switch to a child theme, you have to set up theme options and settings again – they are not carried over to a child theme. Is that the problem?
