As a general rule of thumb, you should never modify plugin files directly.

Thanks for the reply, the only thing is then I can’t turn the feature off when I need to without deleting the MU plugin. will work on my own solution for this

You could just make it a normal plugin instead of an MU and deactivate it when you don’t need it ??
