  • Hello Léo.

I had the same issue, I completely uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled it again, and it helped.

Deactivating it did not do the trick, try and let me know, otherwise you might want to reinstall the previous version.

submissions do go to the database via Contact Form DB, but no emails are received. This is a new problem since emails have been received for these forms before now. I’m worried that if I uninstall and reinstall I will have to recreate all of the forms.

Though the plugin successfully sends millions of emails every day, there are a host of issues that can stop or delay emails on both the sending and receiving ends. It depends entirely on your local Server & WordPress configuration. You will need to investigate this issue for your particular local configuration.

See Contact Form 7 Email Issues. There is a link at the bottom of the page to a comprehensive and detailed article which covers many issues. Most people that work through this information appear to be able to resolve their email sending & receiving issues.

I’m having the same issue as no messages are being received. I have several websites on different hosts and none work now. Also, I went through the troubleshooting guide to no avail.

    Hi Guys,

Like Buzztone replied, Its true that some hosts might limit emails to be send, I suggest contacting your host to enquire.

You can check if your Website sends any emails by requesting a lost password.. if you dont get an email then you will need something like

    I hope this helps.

The most common case I’ve seen of “email not working now” is that you are sending mail to a Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo recipient and are using the wrong SMTP server to deliver the mail or are using a custom domain without SPF configured.

If your From address is Yahoo -> use smtp.mail.yahoo.com
If your From address is Gmail -> use smtp.gmail.com
If your From address is Hotmail -> use smtp.live.com

Spoofing from addresses and sending through anonymous relays is being disabled account by account by the big three. Your email is probably still sending, but being dropped into a black hole once it reaches its destination.

Here’s what I’ve discovered on the site I’m working on.

If I use the basic set up for contact form and make no changes, I DO receive an email notification.

If I use a Date tag such as [date date-769] I DO NOT receive an email notification. However, the info still goes to the database via Contact Form DB.

    What could be the problem??

    @deegraham

That is indeed a strange thing that happened, have you spoken to your host? What happens if you change back to the default form and try again?

Having same issue. I have 3 forms on the website. The basic contact us form works but the two I use to signup for one our programs get the error message.

    Thanks!
