Password Protect page won't work with different url

  • Hi
    I can’t get wordpresses password protect page – visibility working because in the general settings I need the sire url and web url different.

    Is there a way around this.

    Because the server are set up that way. Two identical sites – one pointed at the actual url.
    Its a fallback in case one got hacked. I don’t understand it – thats just the way the engineers have it set.

    What’s your website URL?

    And when you try to set the password protect page, what happens when you visit that page?
