Hi, all. I’m looking for a simple solution to fixing the navigation on a one-page site using a paid theme.

I found this thread in which the writer had a similar problem to mine:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/one-page-navigation?replies=31
in that only some of the top-nav menu links needed to scroll to other sections on the page, and some (About and Blog, in my case) need to link to separate pages.

Right around comment #19 it starts to get over my head because I’m rather new at this, plus it looks as if the issue was never actually resolved in the thread. I did try the suggestion in comment #10, setting every menu item as a custom item, but it did not work.

Looks as though the solution in the thread worked:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/single-page-wordpress-navigation?replies=4, but again I’m pretty new at this and the files and code are pretty complex so I don’t even know what file to create a child for in this situation.

Can anyone with experience in this area comment? I’ve emailed tech support for the theme, but it’s a bit frustrating with them being on the other side of the globe. You open a ticket, get a reply about 1 or 2 a.m., which doesn’t answer your question so the next morning you respond with more detail, get another reply around 2 a.m., and the next thing you know you’re on day three, still trying to resolve the same issue….

You need to link to a Webpage with the issue.

Sorry, I didn’t mention that I am still developing on my local machine. I haven’t deployed to staging yet because I still have a lot of work to do on the site. Is that a requisite for getting a question answered?

Yes, if you are using a paid theme – we have no access to those, so it’s fairly impossible to help if we cannot see your site or install the theme on a test site.

Hopefully the developer will get back to you.
