Hi there. I did an installation of this plugin earlier.
Was able to connect and get a test email sent.
however, when i used my buyers account to make a purchase on my site (am using EDD plugin), my emails keep getting sent to my administrator email and not buyers email.

Im not sure why, but just a while ago, i was not able to send a test mail at all, so i reinstalled the plugin and installed it again. still no avail.

Have screencaptured my connectivity test below.

Wondering if u could help me out! ??

    Test Port 25 Port 443 Port 465 Port 587
Outbound to Internet Open Open Closed Open
Service Available SMTP HTTP/1.0 No SMTP
    STARTTLS Yes No – Yes
Auth None No No – No
    Login Yes No – Yes
    Plain Yes No – Yes
    CRAM-MD5 No No – No
OAuth 2.0 Yes No – Yes
    Conclusion:

Port 25 can be used for SMTP to smtp.gmail.com.
Port 443 can be used to send Gmail with the Postman Gmail Extension.
Port 587 can be used for SMTP to smtp.gmail.com.
Port 465 is blocked. Contact your host for a solution, such as using their local SMTP server or opening the port.

Hey man, i understand that u use EDD as well, as I saw your Avatar there as well previously and that u gave the solution using Postman SMTP.

For EDD to use the wrong “To: Address”, how can I set it in such a way that buyers would get the receipt email?
    Thanks for clarifying.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how to use EDD. All I can do is help fix mail delivery problems with EDD. You have to ask in the EDD forum what might be wrong with your EDD configuration.

As for your failed test email, looks like Postman is not configured, nor is it sending emails for you. Your next step is to request permission from Google to complete the setup.

    Thanks so much Sir!

That worked, totally forgot to request for permission the second time round. Now its time to tackle to “Pending” Issue everyones facing!

Hi author, I can’t send and received email starting today. I used postman smtp for 2 months now. What should I do with this??

@bryan201988 Looks like your host has blocked all access to the outside world. You only have two options with the current host:

    • Contact them to open any of those ports
    • Use an email account they provide for you, with an SMTP server they provide for you

Of course a third option is to switch to a different web host. Who are you with now?

I bought unmanage vps in hostinger. as expected they did not help me.

I modify the iptables in my server.

Do you think my firewall block the port?

    (@jasonhendriks)

certainly you can use iptables to block ports – it depends on the rules you’re running.
