    Just wondering whether there is shortcode for the side menu field on the demo site. How was it generated?
    It shows several drop-downs:
    Galleries
    Shortcodes
    Columns
    Tables
    Typography
    Layouts
    Typography

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi soluphia. The sidebar menu is created using a built-in page template. This thread gives some information on how to configure it. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you so much! I will check it out.

    To create Child menu pages like that, select Page Template on the right side when you edit the page, and pick “Child Menu”. This needs to be done for all pages that you want to show the childmenu. The pages also needs to be threaded properly to show like that, so that they are children/grandchildren of a parent page.

    I have Page Attributes on the right side but can neither find Page Template nor Child Menu. What am I doing incorrectly? Thank you!

    Is the Pate Attributes box expanded? It should show options for Parent, Template and Order.

    Yes, it shows options for Parent, Template and Order.

    I created another menu, I called it child menu. But it only can be assigned to Top/Header/Footer but not to the sidebars.

    The terminology is a bit misleading. It’s not a “menu” per-se, but the theme functionality creates a menu in the primary sidebar by using the page template. To make it work:
    1. Create the main page:
    Parent = none
    Template = Child Menu
    Order = 0
    2. For each additional page:
    Parent = the main page in #1 above
    Template = Child Menu
    Order = the sequence in which you want this page listed in the menu
    3. Add the main (order 0) page to your normal site menu.
    When you select the main page it should be displayed with the child menu in the primary sidebar.

    Thank you, I got it now! I assume that submenus can be attached to the menu items in the same fashion while choosing the appropriate parent pages.

    Glad it’s working. Yes, the theme supports child entries 2 levels deep.
    Main page
    + child page 1
    ….child page 1.1
    + child page 2
    ….child page 2.1

    Thank you! It is not working that well. The menu does not show up right away. At the moment, it does not show up at all.

    Is it also important to indicate on each “menu” page that the page supposed to be assigned to the Primary Sidebar?

    I created an empty “Child Menu” under Menus. (Do I have to add the base menu page to it or should I leave it empty?)

    Do I have to add this “Child Menu” to the Primary Sidebar under the Widget section by adding “Custom Menus”?

    Thank you for helping!

    Hi,

    You are the Hueman version 2.2.2 ?

    The address of your site?

    It basically only works when I add “Pages” to the Primary Sidebar under the widget area. However, that makes all pages show up. The desired mark up of the menu only appears then when I click the “Base Menu” page.

    You don’t need to add anything to the sidebar. The theme takes care of the page formatting by using the Child Menu page template. The only page you need to worry about is the top-level parent page. You would add that page to your normal menu in the Menus option. When you click on that page in the normal menu, it will open the top-level page which will have the child menu pages listed in the primary sidebar. Does that help.

    I added the base page to the header menu. That link needs to be hit before the menu structure appears on the primary sidebar. It seems that I cannot visit the page and can expect to see the menu structure on the the primary sidebar right away. Correct? Thank you!

    If by “right away” you mean when the user first visits your site, then yes, you can do that. If you set a static Front Page in Settings > Reading, then use that page as your main parent page for the child menu pages, it will show the child menu in the sidebar when the site opens.
