    Hi,

After migrating existing blog to multisite and creating a new site with sub-domain or original site, I am not able to access the sub domain.

Originally the existing site was setup inside a subfolder of my website life /mysite.com/wordpress which was mapped to blog.mysite.com
After migrating to multisite and creating a new sub, the domain for sub became sub.blog.mysite.com
Now this sub.blog.mysite.com isn’t opening at all.
Will appreciate any kind of help or sharing of experience in this case.

What error does sub.blog.mysite.com give you?

We can’t see it so you have to be helpful and tell us what YOU see ??

Or give us a real link.

    sub.glog.mysite.com refers to tumblr.blog.netgautam.com

In chrome the error is –
    This webpage is not available
    ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
The server at tumblr.blog.netgautam.com can’t be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website’s name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network.

Okay. Take your URL and toss it in here: https://www.whatsmydns.net

If you get all red Xs then that means you did not set up wildcard subdomains properly. Check with your host on how to do that.

Now that was something I needed to look into – “wildcard subdomains setup”.
Thank you for bringing that up and I was able to figure out the solution with help from the host.
Thanks a lot once again for the much required pointer which I wasn’t able to know about while going through the multisite setup guide.
