I need a way to allow users to sign up for classes that are created in a Custom Post Type. I also need to be able to set a limit of students per each class and when the number is reached in registrations close registration for that class. Also once a class has happened I don’t want it to show up as a class you can register for.

Is all of this possible with EE 4 Decaf?

  • Hi,

Events in Event Espresso 4 are created as custom post types (espresso_events).

You can limit the number of registrants/attendees on a per ticket basis. Once that limit is reached, then no more registrations will be allowed.

The class (event) would not un-publish itself as that would cause 404 links with search engines. Rather, it switches the ticket selector off and shows a status of sold out. Thanks

So currently I have already created a custom post type called “Classes” that is used to collect the following information about each class that is created: Class Name, Date of Class, start time, end time, maximum class size, class description and the type of class. With EE 4 Decaf would I be able to collect all of the same data and then access it in my template using EE template tags?

Or could I use my “Classes” custom post type in conjuction with EE 4 Decaf to allow registrations?

    Thanks!

No, that would not work as Event Espresso would not be able to use the existing information.

Could I then input that information into each event (class) in EE and then access it and pull it into the proper spots in my template?

Hi Melinda, yes there are templates tags available that can be used to show information that is saved to the event:

If you have found Event Espresso Decaf helpful, would you be able to provide a 5-star review? https://www.ads-software.com/support/view/plugin-reviews/event-espresso-decaf#postform

    Marking as resolved.
