• We use an ecommerce plugin on our photography website. When customers buy a digital image from our website, they receive the email with the link, but the following problem has suddenly arisen: when they open the link – it contains an empty file (0 bytes). If I disable my NextGen plugin, then the empty file problem is resolved. But I don’t want to disable NextGen.

Background: I have a Photocrati theme, but I chose to use another plugin for ecommerce. For at least 18 months everything worked fine together. On April 19 a customer notified me that their digital download didn’t work. The previous digital image sale was on March 9 and it was successful. So the problem occurred between Mar 9 and Apr 19. I contacted tech support at the ecommerce plugin and he spent some time looking into it and couldn’t figure out why it suddenly doesn’t work. He said no code has been changed. I contacted tech support at my host provider and he did some troubleshooting and determined that if I disable NextGen, then the problem with the empty digital file is resolved. I tested, and it’s true.

I don’t want to disable NextGen, because then my Home page slide show will disappear as well as various other images on the website. All of my images for sale (thousands) will still be visible because they are using the other plugin.

Question: Is NextGen now incompatible with other plugins which have file download functionality?
