    Hi,

I was trying to install your plugin to give it a try, but I ran into this:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home1/ce4t/public_html/courses/graphics_for_the_classroom/wp-content/plugins/an-gradebook/functions.php on line 6

    I am running WP 4.2.1

What could be causing this, and how do I fix it?

    Thank you.

    Hi FandomEnt,

I haven’t upgraded the plugin to be compatible with the new version of WordPress yet. This could be the reason why you are getting the fatal error.

It is also possible that there is a dependency on a particular version of php.

Let me look into this and see what I can figure out. These are just some ideas of what may be going wrong.

    Hi FandomEnt,

Can you check the version of your php?

You can do this in shell by entering

    php --version

    and pressing enter.

I think the problem might be the version of php you are using. The following stackoverflow post suggests that you need php 5.3 or greater.

AH, thank you! That did the trick ??

Now I’ll start playing with the Gradebook. You may see my name again with questions.

    In the mean time, THANKS!
