    Greetings,
    Whenever I try to use the send email option, I do receive an email but with the contact form 7 content and not the email template

    Hello [requesting_name],
    Here is the download for [file_name] that you requested.

    meaning, no link is being sent…and when I try to get back to the Inline link, it gets stuck and keep sending there wrong email until I do a reset or recreate the form.

    why can’t I find an example on the send email as the inline link examples?

  • If I’m understanding what you’re saying, it sounds like you have a single-file-download (not multiple with checkboxes). Also, I think you have put stuff in EBD settings item #9 – a custom email template. Is that right?

    If so, you must put [file_url] in there, or there will be no link. If that doesn’t work, I suggest you make that #9 entry blank — don’t put anything in it — and try again & see if you get a link then. If so, then you know you’re missing something in your template or it’s not getting parsed right for some reason.

    You might also turn on Attachments & see if the email you receive has an attachment (then you can just turn it back off). That is helpful to make sure that it knows which file should be there, that you are getting the correct email, etc.
