    Hi,

Im trying to get the widget to work using a few Australian ASX shares: NTC, NST, LAA, AJX and IPP.

Simply entering AJX, NTC and LAA works (though I think this is luck that its hitting asx stocks). IPP and NST don’t though, they do link correctly to the respective Yahoo pages for the two quotes though when I add IPP.AX and NST.AX.

I’ve tried various ticker to exchange relationships (IPP.AX, IPP:AX, IPP:ASX etc) but no joy. How should the ticker/exchange be noted in order to get the correct stock in the widget.

    Example page is [https://consequentialexperimentation.com/blog/2013/12/project-not-fixed-is-complete/]

    Kind regards

    Hello,

The Show Stock Quotes plugin uses the Google Finance API to retrieve data and we are limited to what data they allow us to get. So I am afraid to say that if the tickers are not working then they most likely are not supported by Google Finance.

Hmm seems weird although looks like that API is deprecated The following seem to work a treat though

    https://finance.google.com/finance/info?client=ig&q=ASX%3aIPP
    https://finance.google.com/finance/info?q=ASX%3aNST

Is IPP.AX the official way to express stock_ticker.exchange? and is AX the exchange code for the ASX?

Yes you are 100% correct that the Google Finance API is deprecated and that they can remove it form service at any time. Show Stock Quotes is just and easy way to configure this Google Finance API onto your site in an easy manner.

The links you gave above are the exact API endpoints we use in out plugin. So try and use ASX%3aIPP as you ticker symbol and see if Google Finance recognizes it.

    Hi 99Robots!

Did this ever get resolved? I’m using your plugin as well, and needing to input ASX stocks in, but nothing seems to work :-/

Yes Google Finance will only pull from U.S Exchanges and a couple others, so if the symbol does not show any data then there is no support for it.

Sorry, but we are limited by the API ??
