• Installed Jetpack 3.5.3 to Sparkling theme and after adding custom CSS to the “Edit CSS” a few times came up with the page saying:

    “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

    Tried deactivating other plugins, same result.

    Then tried activating different theme as instructed on the debugging page, now custom CSS that I added into the Edit CSS section is gone and still coming up with “You do not have..” page.

    This page comes up when I click on Jetpack ‘Settings’, ‘Edit CSS’, ‘Theme Options’ or ‘Lightbox’

    I also can’t see any Posts or Pages, as it says ‘No pages found’ with ‘All (6)’ or ‘Invalid post type’

    And when I try to click on ‘Customise’, ‘Background’ or ‘Header’ I get the message:
    Fatal error: Call to a member function is_theme_active() on a non-object in …/wp-admin/customize.php on line 88

    Not sure what to do here, this is for an assignment so any help would be really appreciated.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

    Could you try to switch to one of the default themes, like Twenty Fifiteen, and see if the problem disappears?

    If you continue to experience issues, could you try to deactivate all other plugins on your site, one at a time, and let me know if you find a conflicting plugin?

    I switched default themes, still the same problem.

    I also tried deactivating the other plugins and still the same problem.

    I had a look at the fatal error on line 88 from the customize.php file but I am not sure how to fix it.

    if ( $wp_customize->is_theme_active() ) {
    	$document_title_tmpl = _x( 'Customize: %s', 'Placeholder is the document title from the preview' );

    Thanks for giving that a shot! Can you temporarily disable Jetpack? Then, check to see if the error persists in the Customizer. Let me know how that works for you, and we can go from there!

    Hi – I have the exact issues that lucygraves had/has.
    – As an admin, showing insufficient permission access to theme options
    – Pages being visible on live site and in summary counts but not editable or visible from PAGES tab
    -Fatal error: Call to a member function is_theme_active() on a non-object in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas07_data01/44/2661144/html/wp-admin/customize.php on line 88

    Help??
