• I’ve installed the Easy Google Fonts plugin on the Tesseract theme and the “Theme Typography” submenu under Customize -> Typography is not showing up.

    Has anyone else encountered this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • I have the exact same problem. Did you solve it? Thanks.

    Got it to work.
    1. Enter Google API key for Google Fonts. Follow instructions on https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/how-to-get-a-google-api-key?replies=6
    2. Go to Settings/Google Fonts
-Click “Create a New Font Control”
    -Name it “Home Headline”
    -Click “Save Font Control”
-Under Add CSS Selector type “.home-headline” (without the quotation marks)
    -Click “Save Font Control”
-Repeat for each “span class” on your page.
-Go to your homepage and click Appearance/Customize
    -Click Typography > Theme Typography

Hi, I have set up font controls “theme typography” using Tyler’s tesseract theme but I tried to edit the fonts in both “home headline” and “home sub” panel but the page doesn’t response to any of the settings.

Does it have anything to do with this : “Force Styles Override (Optional)” in the Settings/Font Control page? If not, what could be the problem?

I’ve followed all the steps in Tyler’s tutorials, there were several hickups on the way and I managed to deal with it but now I’m really stuck here and can’t seem to find the answer.

    Anyone can help? Please? Ta!

    Hi Rossiter
I guess it might be a bit late to reply to your question, but this might help you and others.
I had exactly the same issue and couldn’t get the instant response or the CSS to work. I eventually found this video which made me see the answer.

    https://vimeo.com/77878709

The code supplied by Tyler was like this:

    <span class=”home-headline”> TEXT </span>
However for it to work for me it needs to be:

    <home-headline> TEXT </home-headline>

    This works for me.

    Hello Friends,

I too encounter the same problem, but afterword realize that I was making a small mistake.

    Go to Settings/Google Fonts
-Click “Create a New Font Control”
    -Name it “Home Headline”
    -Click “Save Font Control”
-Under Add CSS Selector type “.home-headline

Here I was missing preceded dot(“.”) which was creating problem for me.

    .home-headline

    it is right way.

    thanks a lot.
