    Hi there

I have three blogs which are running on other firewall plugin. I just tried SSF on testing website this afternoon, and wow – it has very straightforward setup and easy to use.

Now, I’m thinking to switch SSF.

The other plugin I’m using said – “makes your site up to 50 times faster …”. I don’t see my websites blazing fast. But feel good when I read that line – ” your site up to 50 times faster”.

One question – Does SSF use lots of system resources and slow down my websites?

    Thanks much for developing SSF!

    Hi!

Glad to hear you like the Firewall plugin. We’ve taken great steps to ensure that the Simple Firewall is fast and efficient. There are always ways to improve that, and we are always conscious of performance.

The plugin you’re referring to is talking about its caching engine, which isn’t a security feature and so this isn’t comparable. As to being 50x faster, that’s down to the particular website, and configuration.

The firewall plugin is broken up into sub-components which are not loaded unless you have enabled them… this allows you to optimise your performance such that only features you need are loaded.

If you do see noticeable changes in performance after using our plugin, I’d love to hear more details. That said though, this just isn’t likely. Try CloudFlare (www.cloudflare.com) as a means of adding extra security and performance to your sites ??

Also, if you do like the plugin, please do leave us a review on www.ads-software.com… it’s a big favour I ask, but it’s all I would ask in return – no donations, or premium versions, just that you help spread the good word ??

    Thanks!
    Paul.
