I noticed after upgrading my site to 4.2.2 that I could no longer access Live Preview or Theme Customization. When I try to access those pages I get error messages in the console:

In Chrome the error is “net::ERR_CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH”
In Safari the error is “Failed to load resource: The network connection was lost”

After a lot of trouble-shooting of my own, and a lot of back and forth with my hosting service ( Hostek ), I have made no progress.

The most recent attempt I made was to delete my site and recreate it manually. I downloaded a fresh copy of WordPress 4.2.2 copied it into my environment. I created a new database with a new user that has full privileges. The installation seemed to go perfectly, however I get the same errors when I try to access Live Preview or Theme Customize.

I have no plugins, I have added no themes, I have no posts, comments, or pages aside from what was created upon installation. I have read every thread of others who have had this problem but nothing has worked.

Interestingly, I placed a file in the root of the wordpress installation that does nothing but output phpinfo() and that page returns the same error. You can see this by going to:

Any info on solving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

After much badgering, Hostek was able to figure out the issue. Unfortunately, they didn’t provide much in-depth information. This is what I got:

“There was a conflict between module and mod_security on the server and we are in the process of removing the module since we don’t use it.”

I can confirm that whatever they did fixed the issue.
