Sorting problem

The sorting works fine for me. What seems to be the trouble?

When i open the list page the default sorting by event date it is working, but after when i select sort again by date is not working currently.

Actually it does work. Because 23/05/2015 comes before 22/08/2015 in alphabetical order (23 is bigger than 22).

To make this work you should format your dates like so YYYYMMDD (Year – month – day)

I understand, but why when default sort option it set by date, the sorting it is okay?

That is because the initial sorting is done by WordPress which has a more advanced sorting mechanism.
