Error on setup – Mail Setup

I’m getting the following error after setting up WP Mandrill:

Warning: set_time_limit(): Cannot set max execution time limit due to system policy in /customers/a/b/8/dktge.com/httpd.www/events/wp-content/plugins/wpmandrill/lib/mandrill.class.php on line 432

How can I fix this? Sending emails from the site now causes the site to crash…and this is a very important functionality for me. so any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
