I love that a new post goes to Facebook and others through Publicize when I publish the post. But there doesn’t seem to be a way to refresh the Facebook post if I want to renew the post later (or when I forget to title the post before publishing).

Is there a way to do this that I haven’t been able to discover yet? I’ve tried changing the publish date and changing the post to draft with a new publish date. Neither will reset the Publicize function. If it’s not possible now it would be a fantastic addition to a very useful function.

  • This is not possible. The only way to “update” your post once it makes it to Facebook is to go to your page and edit the post by hand.

    Hope this helps!

The only way I’ve found to “edit the post by hand” and have it repost to Facebook is by recreating the post as a new post. Is that correct?

When you say it’s not possible, does that mean it’s impossible (like because of Facebook issues) or just that it hasn’t been developed yet? Is it a feature that might be developed in the future?

Publicize only works for new posts that haven’t been published at all. Therefore, you cannot Publicize a post that has already been published. And you cannot use Publicize to modify an existing post on Facebook. Once a post is on Facebook, you’ll need to edit it directly from your Facebook account.

I hope this helps clear things up! Please let me know if you have any questions.
