Subscriptions – do site members also recieve new post notifications?

    Currently on my site I don’t allow any registered users on my site, it is just me as an admin but I do have the subscription widget enabled to allow visitors to get notified of new posts.

    I’m considering creating a membership type system on my page, using other plug ins to restrict content to registered users only. If I want my registered users to receive post notifications do they need to both be set up as a user as well as through the JetPack subscription feature? Or do registered users automatically get the notifications?

    I’m not currently on the list of subscribers (when looking at it through Site Stats), but I do get post notification emails everytime I post something new. I’m not sure if this is just because the subscription applies to registered users (me as the admin) or if I somehow signed up and don’t recall and now it doesn’t show me in the list.

    It would be ideal to have the subscriptions work for registered users so they don’t have to sign up to the site in two places.

    Jetpack Subscriptions won’t send any email to your site’s registered users. They will need to sign up using the Jetpack subscription form to start receiving emails.

    Could you check the “WordPress.com Followers” tab as well, to make sure you didn’t sign up using your WordPress.com account?

    This is the trick, I’m a follower through WordPress.com. Makes sense.

    We don’t have an ETA for that feature yet. Few people requested that feature so far, but we’ll consider it next time we work on the subscriptions module.
