    Hi Kyle,

I love the look of your theme, and have found it easy to use. The one issue I’ve run into is when I view my page on my android phone the menu icon (three horizontal bars) shows up in the browser but nothing happens when I click it. What am I missing? Is there a setting somewhere for this, I’ve looked all over, but can’t seem to find anything.

    Thanks,
    Greg

    nodayjob,

First, do you have a menu enabled and is visible when viewed in a desktop browser?

If so, what mobile browser are you using? Also what is your phone’s resolution and what version of android are you running?

    Hi Kyle,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. On desktop, I have a menu enabled with 6 items, two with sub menus, it works fine on desktop browsers. I tried removing the sub menus, but that made no difference.

On android I’m running 5.02, tried both chrome and dolphin with the same result. Not sure how to tell resolution from the phone, but google say it’s 720 x 1280 pixels (~342 ppi pixel density).

Website is gregsmith.biz in case thats of nay help.

    Thanks!

    nodayjob,

My phone (Galaxy S5) and desktop (zoomed far in) seems to work fine with those browsers on a stock install of Atomic 1.5.1.

I should have suggested this first, but can you try disabling all plugins and then check if it works?

    Hi Kyle,

After uninstalling all the plugins and re-installing only the ones I actually use it seems to work now. I’m not sure which one the problem plug in was. If it’s helpful to you I could try to figure it out, but as long as it works, I’m happy.

Thanks again for a great theme and the prompt help figuring out the menu issue.

    Thanks,
    Greg

    nodayjob,

It would probably be more useful to the plugin developer to figure out why his/her plugin interferes with the navigation. If you happen to find out which it is, it may be useful to me, however I’ve come across many plugins that disrupt themes that it seems a pervasive problem that’s not likely to be solved from my end.

I’m glad you got everything working. Let me know if you ever have any other questions or concerns.

    Take Care,

Hi Kyle, i have the same issue. I have tried deactivating all of my plugins (i have only installed 4) the only one i havent deactivated is the child theme one as i am scared to lose all of my work (one-click child theme).
I’ve never had an issue with this on other themes.. i always use the one-click child theme plug in.

I also need the full header image to show but it is zoomed by default.

    best wishes,

    Melissa

    Melissa,

Can you send me a link so I can check it out?

Also, what browser (and version) are you using?

Although the one-click child theme plugin may not be causing the issue, it can’t be ruled out as the culprit until you deactivate it and the site still behaves the same way. You should be able to deactivate it without it affecting anything (you already have your child theme created from the plugin- it shouldn’t delete anything).

Hi Kyle, thank you so much for such a fast response!
I have now tried deactivating the child theme and the menu on mobile still does not work.

It doesnt click for the current apple iOS version. I have not been able to try it on Android.

    The website is: https://www.nikisadanam.com

That is strange. It appears that the navigation menu code has been altered somehow. I haven’t determined exactly how, though.

Have you created a child theme and/or altered it in any way?
I would suggest reinstalling the theme and seeing it it works from a fresh install.

I definitely didnt alter anything in the header code or the mobile code in the child theme(or parent theme).
And it doesnt work when child theme is off… which leads me to believe its an isseu with the parent.
its weird indeed. I dont want to lose all of my work and the person who i made the site for needs the site asap.
i really appreciate your help, its a beautiful theme!

Are you running the latest version of wordpress?

I don’t have much experience diagnosing theme problems. It may have something to do with the menu you created, or if you altered the css.

Does this happen with the stock/unaltered theme? If the unaltered theme works, try adding your edits one at a time to determine which one stops the menu from functioning.

Check that under Appearance -> Menus that you have “Primary Menu” checked.

Hi Kyle, thanks again for all your help!
I am running the latest version of wordpress and i have also swapped to the stock theme without plugins and its still an issue. However if i install the theme to one of my test sites it works fine… its really super weird, i think it may be a corruption in the wordpress install.
I’m going to have to uninstall wordpress and rebuild the site ??

    (primary menu was checked too)

Hi Kyle, i worked out the issue after rebuilding the site four times. If you hide the site title by leaving that field blank in the atomic options or in CSS with display:none; it disables the mobile menu. To hide the site title i ended up changing the opacity in the CSS to 0.
Thought i’d let you know in case you get anyone else enquiring about it.
Thanks again for a beautiful theme!

    best wishes,

    melissa
